Patellofemoral arthritis: Efficacy of physiotherapy and understanding the role of joint stress

Inclusion Criteria Aged over 40 years Has Osteoarthritis in the patellofemoral joint (PFJ) Has pain behind or around PFJ aggravated by stairs, sit-to-stand or squatting Pain during these activities present on most days during the past month
Tick relevant boxes
Exclusion Criteria Have current pain from other knee, hip or back conditions Have had knee or hip replacement or osteotomy surgery Are planning knee surgery Are unable to walk without help Cannot understand written and spoken English Have had physiotherapy treatment in the past year for their knee Have had knee injections in the past 3 months Have an allergy to tape (or Band-Aids) Have a contraindication to X-ray (eg. Pregnant, breastfeeding) Have a contraindication to MRI (eg. Implanted metal material)
